We Fight Discrimination Of All Types

We accept gay discrimination litigation cases and other cases in which harassment or discrimination has occurred on the basis of several protected classifications, including:

Discrimination preys on people’s identity, the aspects of themselves they cannot change and would not change. Your skills, your education and your experience are what should matter in your work, not your personal identity or sexual orientation. When your employer makes that side of your life a problem, we will be there to fight for you.

Types Of Prohibited Conduct

Under California’s Fair Housing And Employment Act (FEHA) your employer must treat you fairly and equally with all other employees. There are many provisions covered in that law, but specifically the following are prohibited:

  •  Slurs: Any derogatory descriptor applied to you can be a slur. They can be spoken to you directly, overheard or even hidden in jokes and files. Slurs are some of the most obvious types of sexual orientation discrimination
  • Exclusion: You can be excluded from work in many ways; an obvious one is blocking you from important meetings that discuss company goals. Less obvious are “social occasions” and office parties. If you find your invitations to these “team building” moments lost, you may be a victim of discrimination.
  • Unequal standards: Every employee should be evaluated on the same standards. The standards may be higher or lower for you; both could both be types of discrimination.

We often pursue these cases under California’s law for the simple fact that it is more robust and offers greater protections to working people than the federal law. If you find yourself a victim of prohibited conduct in any way, you have an opportunity to put a stop to it and get compensation for what you’ve suffered. We will be there to help.

Were You A Victim Of Retaliation?

Did you face harassment on the job, or were you demoted or terminated after you complained to your employer about workplace harassment regarding your sexual orientation? Employers are required to provide a safe working environment, free from harassment and discriminatory practices. It is illegal for an employer to terminate an employee in retaliation for filing a complaint about discriminatory practices. It is also illegal for an employer to create a hostile work environment in an effort to make an employee quit. Talk to us about your circumstances.
